Amy Dryer
Amy Dryer is a contemporary Canadian painter based in Calgary, Alberta, creating vibrant, expressive works that emphasize color, movement, and gesture. She studied at the Alberta College of Art, the Glasgow School of Art, and earned her BFA from Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick.
Working daily in her downtown Calgary studio, the warehouse space provides the perfect environment to create large and small canvases. inspired by a diverse range of subjects, including women, landscapes, umbrellas, children, and butterflies. Her painting practice is informed by music, embracing spontaneity, immediacy, and reflective expression, reflecting her belief that “the greatest art aspires to the state of music.”
Amy has exhibited widely in galleries and private collections across Canada and the United States. In 2008, she was featured in Avenue Magazine’s “Calgary’s Best” issue, appearing on the cover and in a feature article recognizing her artistic contributions.
