About Us

Founded in Toronto in 2003, Canvas Gallery has spent over two decades connecting people with exceptional Canadian art. What began with a shared love of creativity and storytelling has grown into a trusted destination for original work by established and emerging artists from across the country.

After years working in film and television, founders Megan Less and Mark Hunter created Canvas with a simple belief: art should feel personal, approachable, and deeply human. The gallery was built not just as a place to view art, but as a space where conversations happen, relationships form, and collections evolve over time.

At Canvas, representation is personal. We work closely with our artists — many of whom we’ve collaborated with for decades — supporting their practice and sharing their work with collectors who value authenticity, craft, and story. Likewise, our relationships with clients often span years, sometimes generations, as we help build collections that reflect who they are and how they live.

Our curatorial approach is guided by experience, instinct, and trust — trust in the artists we represent and in the clients who return to us time and again. Whether you’re acquiring your first piece or adding to a long-standing collection, we’re here to guide, listen, and make the process enjoyable and meaningful.

Canvas is, and has always been, about connection — between artist and collector, space and story, art and life.
