Artist Submissions
Representing Canadian Artists for Over 20 Years
Canvas Gallery is a Toronto-based contemporary art gallery with more than 20 years of experience representing exceptional Canadian artists. We work closely with private collectors, corporate clients, interior designers, and art advisors across Canada, building long-term relationships rooted in trust, professionalism, and a shared love of art.
We welcome artist submissions from both emerging and established Canadian artists whose work aligns with our curatorial vision and standards. Please take the time to read our guidelines below.
As with most galleries, we prefer an initial email submission as opposed to walk-in requests to review artists' work. It is hard to look at your work properly under those circumstances.
Before submitting, first take a look and familiarize yourself with what we do by going through our website, or visiting the gallery in person if you can. As a rule we like to see a coherent series of works and the majority of our clientele are seeking mid-size to large works.
Take a minute to review the work and pricing of our existing roster of artists. If you then believe your work is a good fit for Canvas, please send along a submission following all the steps below.
Send us an email - art @ canvasgallery.ca - with at least 6 images of your recent work, Include medium, size (in inches) and pricing if you have already established a price point.
We prefer if at all possible uncropped images of your work in the studio. It helps us put the work and scale into context.
Email attachments should be in JPG format and should not exceed 1.5 MB total.
We are happy to review your personal website or instagram account, but we would like to see a little more than that in your initial submission.
In addition to a good selection of images, please include some information about your process and medium, where else you may currently be selling or showing your work, and a little information about yourself. If possible, a CV is also appreciated.
At this time, we only represent artists who are living and working in Canada.
Due to the volume of submissions we receive, sometimes we are unable to reply to all submissions.
We will contact artists of interest for more information and possible studio visit.
