Dan Ryan
Dan Ryan discovered his artistic talent early and was recognized for his intuitive skill throughout secondary school. After graduating, he moved to Baffin Island, where the landscape, wildlife, and high Arctic scenery profoundly influenced his perspective on nature and became a lasting inspiration in his work.
Dan pursued formal studies at the Ontario College of Art and later trained in illustration and advertising design at Sheridan College, grounding his practice in strong technical skills. Following college, he worked for many years in advertising and design, rising to the role of Art Director, before transitioning to a full-time artist as demand for his work grew.
After spending much of his life in Toronto, Dan has recently returned to the beach community of Brights Grove on the shores of Lake Huron, where he continues to paint full time. His works are held in private, corporate, and gallery collections across North America.
