Stéphanie Rivet
Stéphanie Rivet (b. 1972, Montreal, QC) is an abstract painter whose work explores the spontaneity and freedom of intuitive creation. Initially drawn to both the arts and sciences, Stéphanie studied mathematics before pursuing her passion for painting, earning a Fine Arts degree from the Université du Québec à Montréal.
Since 1998, Stéphanie has exhibited widely across Canada, the United States, and Europe. In 2008, she made the transition to full-time artist, leaving her teaching career to dedicate herself entirely to her creative practice.
Her abstract works are inspired by nature, and she applies paint primarily with a palette knife, often mixing colors directly on the canvas. This method emphasizes intuition, spontaneity, and the acceptance of the unknown, allowing each painting to evolve organically. Stéphanie believes that embracing the unexpected can lead to discoveries even more beautiful than her initial vision.
Her work is included in private and corporate collections worldwide, reflecting her international reach and the universal resonance of her vibrant, textural compositions.
