Marina Nazarova
Marina Nazarova is a Russian-Canadian artist living between Canada and Brazil.
She holds a BFA in Painting from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver BC. As part of the exchange program she studied at L’École des Beaux-Arts in Paris where she developed a true passion for the figurative art. Her practice revolves around painting anonymous female portraits set in abstract environments.
In her work Marina tends to explore themes of stillness and detachment as she draws her inspirations from a yoga philosophy and practice. While dismissing a fixed narrative, Marina focuses on a pure perception of the familiar as well as the presence of unknown and hidden in her figures. Marina’s paintings are in private collections in Canada, US, Europe and Brazil.
Her work was featured in House & Home magazine in 2021 and 2023 issues.
