Sujesh Chitty

Bomanville artist Sujesh Chitty, born in Chennai, India, uses a contemporary approach to explore the ancient artworks and culture he has been exposed to since childhood. His work brings his subjects to life through vibrant and expressive art, effortlessly capturing the balance between nature and humanity.

His interest in art started in childhood, and growing up he spent all of his free time either drawing or painting. After finishing high school, his parents, having always encouraged his passion, sent him to Government College of Arts and Crafts in Chennai—one of the first, and oldest schools for fine arts in India.  He earned a BFA in Visual Communication Design, and then decided to further his education at Seneca College in Toronto. 

Sujesh paints almost every day, practising with oil, acrylic, and gouache paints, and constantly seeks to stretch himself and his skills. “I love being a painter, and I try to give back to the artistic community by teaching painting at local art spaces.”
