Sujesh Chitty

Sujesh Chitty is a contemporary Canadian painter based in Bowmanville, Ontario, originally from Chennai, India. Drawing on his lifelong exposure to India’s rich artistic and cultural heritage, Chitty creates vibrant, expressive works that explore the balance between nature and humanity.

His interest in art started in childhood, and growing up he spent all of his free time either drawing or painting. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication Design from the Government College of Arts and Crafts in Chennai—one of India’s oldest fine arts institutions—before continuing his studies at Seneca College in Toronto. 

Working primarily in oil, acrylic, and gouache, he paints almost daily, constantly refining his technique and exploring new creative directions. In addition to his studio practice, Chitty contributes to the local art community through teaching and mentorship, sharing his passion for painting with emerging artists.
