Michelle Purchase

Michelle Purchase learned the art of printmaking at the University of Waterloo in the early 1990's. Since then she has been creating etchings, monoprints, and lithographs that explore relationships between the natural and the built environment. Her art touches on environmental issues such as urban sprawl, native species, and deforestation; while invoking memories of childhood wonder and imagination. Purchase is a licensed Landscape Architect and teaches at Niagara College. She lives in Kitchener with her family and has worked out of Globe Studios since 2004.
