Judy Arsenault

Judy Arsenault is a Nova Scotia based visual artist known for her encaustic and acrylic paintings which explore her connection to her rural landscape. After a foundation year at Mount Allison University and graduation with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design, Judy made her home in the tiny village of Maitland, Hants County. From the windows of her studio on the Shubenacadie River she is a daily observer of the powerful Bay of Fundy tides. The ebb and flow of this great tidal river, along with the cycles and rhythms of the land function in her paintings as symbols of life's transitions, reminding us that our lives are a work in process that unfolds over time. Arsenault's paintings are featured in the publication 'Nova Scotia's Contemporary Artists Volume 2', edited and published by Dee Appleby. Her work is in many private and public collections, including the Alzheimer Society, the Municipality of the County of Colchester and the Nova Scotia Art Bank.
